So, I've always had a fairly dirty mouth. I jokingly attribute it to the fact that my Dad is a truck driver and therefore his foul language has rubbed off on me, but the truth of the matter is it's just something I do. I don't like that I do it, I've actively tried to stop in the past. I have stopped but eventually I just start swearing all over again! Especially if I'm stressed or tired.
Well, apparently swearing is shown to relieve stress. Who knew?!
Hubs, however, doesn't like that I swear. He catches me doing it quite frequently, in front of the boys. It's not that I mean to do it, it just kind of... comes out!
So far I've been lucky and only Cash has picked up a word here or there. He only uses it for a short period of time and never really "gets" the appropriate way to use the swears anyhow. Still, of course I'm bowled-over with guilt for teaching my 3 year old some choice words.
The worst is in the car! Oh sh*t the car! I don't know if you've noticed this, but people are terrible at driving. So many terrible drivers = terrible mommy swears and lots of "who are you talking to?" and "what does that mean?" coming from the back seat!
As much as I would love to explain words like "twat" and "idiotstick!" to my toddlers, I really just need to learn how to control my mouth, I mean that or find some way to rid all of the idiot drivers from the world! How do you control something you've never had control of in the first place? :P
So, I want to know:
- Do you/have you sworn in front of your kid(s)?
- Have you stopped yourself from swearing? If so, how?
- What's the WORST word you've ever said in front of your kid(s)?
- How do you deal with terrible drivers without swearing?
;)
